A Colorado girl met a Texas boy and they lived happily ever after. But before their "happily ever after," they decided to get married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch! Cody & Janet met only a handful of days after Cody moved to Colorado from Texas. Like many in this modern era, they met on a dating app but their story is a little different than you may expect! Cody was on the app in an attempt to meet new people and make friends in his new home. Janet was on the app after much pestering by her friends. Truth be told Janet never met anyone on the app outside of Cody so it is only faith that these two ended up together. When Cody & Janet began searching for the perfect place to get married, Blackstone Rivers Ranch was their first of three event venues they visited. Janet grew up in Colorado and she grew up wanting a mountain wedding. They loved Blackstone Rivers Ranch... Every aspect seemed to be perfect; especially the glass beaded wallpaper in one of the getting-ready suites! Cody & Janet also fell for the closeness Blackstone Rivers Ranch provides. Blackstone is only 35 minutes from the Denver. It provides any wedding guest with flexibility. With Janet & Cody having many guests from out of state, this aspect was important to them, as it is important to many couples who get married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch. Being so close to Denver, guests can stay wherever they like: Denver, Golden, or just down the road from the venue. On the day of their wedding, Cody & Janet wanted it to feel like a big backyard party. They wanted a cozy wedding filled with light and they did this by paying attention to every detail. They had a candlelight dinner accented with greenery and white florals. And as a unique touch, they had a display table of vintage cake toppers from their grandparents and great grandparents surrounded by pictures of family members on their wedding day. Janet & Cody were so kind as to say that every aspect of their wedding day was fabulous. They loved the sound of the river and the ability to listen to it while they exchanged their wedding vows. They loved the way the event staff cared for them and their guests. Janet said she felt her little Colorado girl dreams had come true! Today they are living in a house they built together in northern Colorado. They moved in about a month ago. They are expecting a baby in September. Congratulations, Janet & Cody. And thank you for sharing your wedding day with us.
