Our last wedding of the 2019 season was filled with beautiful photos and a sweet love story! The wedding of Kate & James was the last event we hosted at Blackstone Rivers Ranch for our 2019 season. They got married in early November which explains the amount of snow you can see throughout their pictures. During 2019, we extended our season for this lovely couple and whew, are we glad we did! You can see below how the snow made for some fabulous wedding photos. Kate & James were a lovely couple. They met over four years ago during the orientation week at Ole Miss. They were both college athletes; James played basketball and Kate played volleyball. They found themselves hanging out in many of the same groups. They spent a lot of time together and quickly became fast friends. They then dated and now they are married. Though this wedding happened in late fall there were a few wintry items to aid in the snowy weather. To keep warm in the chilly mountain air, Kate wore a white fur shrug. While many brides dress their bridesmaids in light-colored dresses, Kate settled on a dark forest green dresses. These lovely green dresses popped against the snowy white background and paralleled the lovely evergreens that surround Blackstone Rivers Ranch. A rich green color is a unique option perfect for fall and winter weddings. The ten bridesmaids wrapped up their look with dark brown fur wraps. Together with the bridesmaids in their satin green dresses and the groomsmen in black suits, the wedding had some classic elements. Kate's crepe gown next to James's traditional black suite looked incredibly elegant against the mountainside. In addition to the classic attire, the bride and groom decided to work with the rustic elements that fill Blackstone Rivers Ranch. They stuck with rustic simplicity which you will see in the in their table decor. They wanted to show off the things they love! For Kate & James, Blackstone was the perfect venue for their wedding day. They knew they wanted to get married outdoors, but with James' basketball schedule they couldn't get married in the springtime (which had always been Kate's dream). They found the astounding trees, strung lights, sail-cloth tent, stunning getting ready suites and the spectacular ceremony site compared to no other venues they toured. While having a late-season wedding can mean the possibility of snow, this bride and groom were comforted by Blackstone's constant reassurance that we would do anything to make them and their guests comfortable. Kate & James, you were such a sweet way to end our 2019 season! Thank you for celebrating with us.
