As the bride, you want your lovely attendants to look and feel great on your wedding day – and for that to happen, you will want to select the best dresses ever.
When should that happen, though? When is it a good time to purchase the gowns for your bridal party?
We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.
· Decide on whether you will choose custom/ designer dresses for your bridesmaids or off-the-rack options. Both can look splendid and they can definitely fit into any kind of elegant wedding – but the main difference lies in availability and the time needed for the dresses to be picked, ordered, and ready to wear.
· If you chose the first option, make sure you start your search at least seven months before the actual wedding date. It will take some time to find the right options (and it will take some time for your bridesmaids to settle on one of the options if you provide them with multiple alternatives). Furthermore, it will take about three months for the dresses to arrive, and you should take into account at least one or two months for the alterations as well.
· If you choose the off the rack variant, the timeline will be slightly modified, as you will need a total of three months for the shopping and the alterations. However, please do keep in mind that off the rack options can be limited, so you will still have to hurry as soon as the new collections are available. Of course, you need to find a wedding dress first, to make sure you coordinate the style and maybe even the overall vibe and design with the bridesmaids’ dresses – but even so, the sooner you settle on a specific dress design for your attendants, the better it is.
· If you want to make everything super-easy, just ask your bridesmaids to wear a particular shade, or choose from a specific range of shades. Also, completely mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses will continue to be a trend in the upcoming months and even years, so that’s an option to consider as well.
