WHAT DOES A WEDDING PLANNER DO?

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

And why does Blackstone Rivers Ranch require you to have one?

Let’s be honest. A wedding planner can make or break your wedding day. A full service planner, month-of coordinator, day-of coordinator, whichever service you choose, there are so many details to cover on the days leading up to your wedding and on your actual day. If one thing gets missed, it could be a disaster.

“What exactly does a planner help with, you ask?”

Prior to the wedding, planners look over contracts to ensure rules are understood and followed. They are the main point of contact for every vendor involved in your wedding. Timelines from all different vendors should be sent to the planner so he/she can merge them to create one master timeline. A planner is often involved in the final venue walk through and coordinates the wedding rehearsal, ensuring everyone is on their cue.

Wedding Planners are the hero of any wedding. On the wedding day, a planner can be found setting reception tables to look picturesque, greeting other vendors to make sure they know where they need to be, moving guests from cocktail hour to the reception hour, soothing irritable guests, overlooking family photos (this in and of itself is a BIG job), ensuring the timeline is followed, and having everyone’s contact information at hand.

As if this description isn’t reason enough to get a planner, we at Blackstone Rivers Ranch require you to hire one because we want YOU, as the couple, to be able to live out your day happily. Yes, we will always have a Venue Coordinator on site but a Venue Coordinator and a Wedding Planner and two different jobs. As we make sure the venue is in the best shape it can be in, a planner will tend to your guests, ensuring they are having the time of their lives. We want you to enjoy the night, wishing it could last forever. We do not want you to worry about making sure everyone walks down the isle at the correct time, or whether or not your photographer received their final payment.

If you are having difficulty finding or selecting a planner after you book your wedding with us, please ask us for help! We’d love to give you some suggestions!
